Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz says Ghana’s steady improvement under his leadership is a sign that the team is beginning to fully adapt to his tactical approach ahead of the World Cup.
His remarks came after Ghana’s 1-1 draw with Wales in their final pre-tournament friendly, a match he described as another step in the team’s preparation process.
Queiroz praised the players for their discipline and commitment, noting that they have been increasingly responsive to his game plan as they continue to build cohesion.
He expressed confidence that the squad will become stronger with more time together, especially as they fine-tune their understanding of his system.
Looking ahead to the tournament, the coach stressed that his immediate focus is not on long-term ambitions but on Ghana’s performance at the World Cup itself.
He explained that the team’s objective is to approach the competition in phases, ensuring consistency across all matches to secure progression beyond the group stage.
Queiroz added that while future goals such as continental success remain important, they will only be considered after Ghana’s World Cup campaign is completed.
For now, he maintained, the priority is clear: deliver results that will ensure Ghana advances from the group phase and competes strongly on football’s biggest stage.
