Ghana head coach Carlos Queiroz has singled out goalkeeper Benjamin Asare for commendation following the Black Stars’ hard-fought 0–0 draw against England at the Boston Stadium, describing the shot-stopper’s performance as exceptional in a high-pressure encounter.
Asare, who plays for Hearts of Oak, delivered a commanding display between the posts, making a string of crucial saves to keep England at bay, including a vital intervention to deny Bukayo Saka. His efforts proved decisive as Ghana secured a valuable point against one of the tournament favourites in a tightly contested match.
Speaking after the game, Queiroz praised the goalkeeper’s impact while emphasising the importance of collective discipline and teamwork. He noted that while individual brilliance stood out, the result was ultimately a product of the squad’s unity and tactical organisation.
The draw keeps Ghana in a strong position in Group L as they head into their final group fixture against Croatia in Philadelphia, with Asare expected to retain his place following his standout performance.
