A retired senior official of the Department of Social Welfare has returned to support his former workplace with a donation of a smart television and a projector to improve training and public education activities.
Joseph Kojo Attigah, who previously served as Director in charge of Justice Administration at the Department and is currently Chief Executive Officer of JackleeTV & Radio (Online), presented the items as the first known donation of its kind from a retired staff member.
He said the gesture was inspired by challenges he experienced during his service, particularly logistical constraints encountered during training sessions for probation officers.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Department, Prince Boamah Abrah expressed appreciation and assured that the equipment would be put to good use in staff training and public education programmes.
He described the donation as a landmark contribution, noting that it was the first time a retired officer had returned to support the Department in such a practical way, and encouraged other former staff to emulate the example.
Also speaking, Vida Danquah thanked Mr Attigah on behalf of staff, describing the donation as timely and beneficial to the Directorate’s operations.
