Veteran Nigerian actor Richard Mofe-Damijo has emotionally reflected on Arsenal’s reported Premier League triumph, describing the moment as the end of years of pain, disappointment and unwavering loyalty.
In a heartfelt message shared with fans, the actor recounted how supporting Arsenal F.C. had deeply affected both him and his family over the years.
RMD revealed that one of the most difficult moments came after Arsenal’s painful UEFA Champions League final defeat to FC Barcelona, a loss he said left him emotionally shattered.
“I still remember standing in the living room angry and broken after we lost to Barcelona,” he recalled.
According to the actor, his reaction to the defeat was so intense that his wife lost confidence in Arsenal entirely.
“From that day, she became the biggest skeptic in the house,” he said, adding that she always feared the club could throw away any lead regardless of the scoreline.
RMD noted that years of disappointment and mockery from rival supporters made following Arsenal emotionally draining, but he never stopped believing the club would eventually return to glory.
“But today feels different,” he wrote. “After many years of waiting, patience and believing, Arsenal are finally champions.”
The actor said one of the most satisfying parts of the moment was seeing his wife finally regain faith in the club.
“The biggest critic in my house is finally a believer,” he added.
Describing the victory as more than just football, RMD said the triumph symbolised loyalty, patience and standing by a team through difficult times.
“Today we celebrate glory. Today we are champions,” he stated.
