The Management of the State Housing Company (SHC) has officilly a partne5ship agreement with Aynok Holdings Limited to clear squarters on all state properties across the country.
The initiative was meant to protect all state properties for future generations.
In his address at a press conference in Accra yesterday, the Depity Managing Director (MD) of the State Housing Company (SHC) Limited, Mr. Samuel Atukwei Quaye disclosed that mamy people have enchroached state lands for years. Hence, the agreement was to avoid all such nuisances.
He described Aynok Holdings.
“SHC has engaged Aynok Holdings Limited as its asset recovery partner. Aynok Holdings Limited will support us with field operations and recovery support. Aynok Holdings Limited works under the authority and direction of SHC. responsibility for every decision rests with this company, and every action will be carried out within the law and with respect for the rights and dignity of all persons, ” he stated.
He called on all enchroachers on state lands to do the due diligence by visiting the premises of the SHC for regularisation or face the law of the land.
“Over the years, a considerable number of these lands and properties have fallen into the hands of people with no right to them. Some have encroached on our lands. Some occupy our properties without any authority. Some hold leases that expired long ago and have never been renewed. Some have developed on our lands without approval, and some have sold, sublet, or transferred property that was never theirs to give, ” he stated.
He disclosed that SHC jas been been more than fair on several occasions, adding that the company has called on persons occupying its lands and properties to come forward and regularize their stay but they always fails to do so.
“In 2025, we went further. We introduced a 15 per cent discount for all clients in debt or arrears so that those who owed the company could clear their obligations on more generous terms. It was a real concession, offered in good faith. Many took it, and many others did not. On 16 February 2026, SHC issued a final warning to encroachers and illegal occupants of its lands and properties: regularize or vacate. Again, the call went largely unheeded, ” he stated.
He disclosed that having fulfilled all the legal requirements, the company published a final notice in the national dailies and across the media on September 24, 2026, giving a 21-day ultimatum to all illegal occupants to come forward and regularize, saying that the notice is in the public domain and it is clear, and it is final and it will elapse on October 15, 2026.
“We have been patient. But patience can not be unlimited when the public interest is being eroded each day. In liue of all of the above, the company will be embarking on a land audit and recovery exercise, ” he stated.
According to him the scercise iwas not not targeted at displacing people, saying that SHC has no interest in rendering anyone homeless, and they are not on a mission against citizens but rather what they they are asking is people do the right thing, and give to the State what belongs to the State.
“We advise the public not to buy, lease, develop, or deal in any SHC land without first verifying its status directly with the company. Do not rely on middlemen, informal land agents, or anyone who claims to act for us without written authority. And let me be emphatic: no payment should be made to any person in connection with this exercise except through official SHC payment channels, ” he warned.
For his part, the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aynok Holdings Limited, Dr. Clemence Gyato thanked the Board, Directors Management of the SHC for confidence reposied in them and promised to work to the admiration of all Ghanaians.
He said that Aynok Holings Limited is a privately owned Ghanaian Asset Recovery company legally registered in Ghana with practical experience supporting public institutions in the lawful recovery and protection of encroached state lands since 2012.
” Over the years, the Aynok Holdings Limited has been very instrumental in supporting state institutions to recover and protect state lands. Working under the direction and authority of SHC, our role includes: supporting the audit and mapping of SHC lands and properties;, providing field and logistical support to the exercise and supporting recovery action, where required, strictly in accordance with the law and the instructions of SHC.” Dr. Djato stated.
H3 informed that Aynok Holdings Limited does not own, allocate, or sell SHC land, and it has no authority to do so, adding that decisions on the status of any property rest solely with SHC
