Organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards have announced a major venue change for the 27th edition of the awards ceremony, moving the event from the Palms Convention Centre back to the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre.
The event is scheduled for May 9, 2026, and will honour outstanding achievements in Ghana’s music and creative arts industry during the year under review.
According to a statement issued by Charterhouse Productions, the decision was influenced by the growing size of the awards scheme and the need for a venue that can support a larger and more sophisticated production.
The organisers said the Grand Arena offers greater seating capacity, improved technical infrastructure, and enhanced flexibility required to deliver a high-quality experience for patrons and viewers.
“The move to the Grand Arena reflects the evolving scale and production ambition of the TGMA,” the statement noted.
Charterhouse added that the venue has successfully hosted the awards ceremony since 2019 and remains well-suited for large-scale performances, live broadcasts, and audience engagement.
The organisers also acknowledged the continued support of headline sponsor Telecel Ghana, as well as government institutions backing the event.
They specifically thanked the Government of Ghana and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for supporting efforts to host the event and promote the country’s creative arts industry.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards remains one of Ghana’s biggest entertainment events, celebrating the contributions of musicians, producers, and key players in the creative space.
