The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of 33-year-old Nana Yaw Kyere, whose body was discovered partially burnt at Community 18.
The suspects, identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai, were arrested following investigations by the Police Missing Persons Unit.
According to the Police, Nana Yaw Kyere left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra on September 19, 2026, in his Honda Civic vehicle but did not return.
He was subsequently reported missing on September 22.
Preliminary investigations established that the victim was allegedly lured to the residence of Philip Tefe at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Adams.
The Police said the two suspects later confessed to their involvement, with Tefe allegedly admitting that he attacked Kyere during a confrontation and struck him with a metallic object.
The victim was subsequently moved to another room, where he was left unattended and later died from his injuries, according to the Police account.
Investigators further established that the body was transported in a Kia Morning vehicle to an area near the motorway on September 20, where it was dumped in a bush and set ablaze.
The partially burnt body was discovered at Community 18 on September 21.
Kyere’s biological mother and an uncle later identified the body at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
As part of the investigation, the Police also retrieved the victim’s iPhone 12, which Tefe allegedly sold for GH¢100.
The alleged buyer, Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained on suspicion of dishonestly receiving the phone.
Further investigations led to the arrest of Josiah Obodai over his alleged involvement in the disposal of the body.
The Police have also impounded his father’s Kia Morning vehicle, which investigators believe was used to transport the victim’s body.
The three suspects remain in Police custody and are expected to be put before court as investigations continue.
The Police said efforts are also underway to identify and arrest other persons who may have been involved in the case.
