The Avenor Traditional Council has called for heightened security measures following a violent armed robbery attack in Akatsi Tatorme that left several people injured.
The incident, which targeted a drinks distribution company, Elshadai Enterprise, on April 3, has raised concerns over the safety of residents and businesses in the area.
In a statement signed by Togbega Dorglo Anumah VI, the Council described the attack as a serious threat to peace and local economic activity, warning that such incidents could undermine confidence in the community.
While condemning the act, the Council emphasized the need for a stronger security presence, urging authorities to intensify patrols in Akatsi and surrounding areas to prevent further attacks.
It also commended the Ghana Police Service for its swift response, but stressed the importance of accelerating investigations to ensure those responsible are apprehended and prosecuted.
The Council further appealed to residents to remain alert and support law enforcement efforts by providing credible information that could aid ongoing investigations.
Reaffirming its commitment to peace and stability, the Council pledged to collaborate closely with security agencies and local stakeholders to safeguard lives and property within the Avenor Traditional Area.
