The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, has called on staff of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council (VRCC) to remain united, disciplined and committed to public service as the region positions itself for accelerated development in 2026.
The call was made during a special prayer and devotion session organised under the VRCC’s weekly “Fellowship with God” programme on Monday, January 13. The session brought together management and staff for reflection, prayer and spiritual renewal.
Addressing participants, Mr. Gunu described 2026 as a pivotal year for the Volta Region, stressing that achieving meaningful socio-economic progress would require both collective effort and divine guidance. He encouraged staff to approach their duties with dedication and professionalism, noting that their roles were central to the effective implementation of government policies and programmes.
The Regional Minister prayed for peace in the homes of staff, good health and renewed strength, urging them to stay focused and aligned with the government’s Reset Agenda, particularly in tackling poverty, unemployment and underdevelopment across the region.
He expressed optimism that through teamwork, sacrifice and a shared sense of purpose, the Volta Region would witness significant transformation in the year ahead.
The devotion was led by Elder Professor Yaw Peasah, Founder and Leader of the El Bethel Prayer Centre, who spoke on the importance of spiritual leadership in governance. He highlighted integrity, humility and accountability as essential values for public officers and reminded participants that effective leadership is rooted in service to both God and society.
Intercessory prayers were offered for peace, unity and sustainable development in the Volta Region and Ghana as a whole.
Staff members who attended the session expressed renewed motivation and commitment to contributing meaningfully to regional development and national progress.
