Joseph Nelson has presented three outdoor broadcast vans to the Western Regional Office of the Information Services Department to improve information delivery across the region.
The vehicles were handed over at a ceremony in Sekondi as part of efforts to strengthen communication between government and citizens, especially in remote communities.
Mr Nelson said the vans would help ensure that government policies, programmes and public information reached deprived areas in a timely and accurate manner.
He cautioned the department against using the vehicles for unofficial purposes, stressing that they were meant strictly for public education and outreach activities.
According to the Minister, the vans should not be diverted for errands, funerals or private use, but should instead focus on reaching communities that often have limited access to information.
Receiving the vehicles, Thomas Tabiri said the support would significantly improve the department’s operations.
He explained that the vans would be deployed to the northern belt, coastal areas and mining communities across the region, where misinformation and rumours often spread quickly.
Mr Tabiri expressed optimism that the vehicles would help the department strengthen public engagement and improve access to official information in hard-to-reach areas.
