Ghanaian entertainer Yaa Jackson has made it clear that industry awards are not her primary motivation as an artist. In a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, the singer and actress emphasized that while accolades are welcome, the genuine support she receives from her fans far outweighs any trophy.
“Awards are nice, but they’re not everything,” she said. “I’m blessed with amazing fans, and that’s what matters. I’ll keep making music that connects with my audience.”
Yaa Jackson, known for her hit “Moses,” featuring dancehall heavyweight Shatta Wale, praised the collaborative spirit within the music industry despite the challenges that often come with securing features. She described the experience of working with other artistes as rewarding and reaffirmed her belief in her craft.
“Getting features can be tough, but I believe in my music. I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with talented artistes, and I’m grateful for that,” she stated.
She singled out Shatta Wale for appreciation, calling his involvement in “Moses” a major boost. “I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Shatta Wale, the king, for his incredible support,” she said.
For Yaa Jackson, the love from fans and the ability to stay true to her artistry remain her biggest accomplishments, not the race for industry recognition.
