The Muslim Journalists Association of Ghana (MJA-Ghana) has paid glowing tribute to Sheikh Abdul Nasiru-Deen, describing his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Turkey as both timely and well-deserved.
In a statement issued by its General Secretary, Mr. Muyid Deen Suleman, the association highlighted Sheikh Nasiru-Deen’s instrumental role in the founding and growth of MJA-Ghana, describing him as a pillar whose influence continues to shape the group’s vision.
“This appointment is not just a recognition of personal achievement, but a national endorsement of selfless leadership and unwavering commitment to progress,” the Association said, noting that Sheikh Nasiru-Deen has long served as a quiet force behind numerous initiatives within the Muslim media space.
Over the years, the ambassador-designate has gone beyond offering moral support—opening up his office for meetings and sponsoring several MJA-Ghana programmes, according to the Association.
MJA-Ghana believes his diplomatic posting marks the continuation of a life devoted to public service. “We are confident that his wealth of experience and visionary leadership will enhance Ghana-Turkey relations and foster new opportunities for collaboration, particularly within the Muslim community,” the statement added.
The group also encouraged Ghanaian Muslims to rally behind Sheikh Nasiru-Deen as he embarks on this new international assignment, calling it a collective win for the broader faith and media community.
The Association concluded by reaffirming its support for the ambassador-designate and expressing optimism that his tenure in Ankara will deliver strategic benefits for both Ghana and the Muslim world.
