In a heartfelt demonstration of solidarity and commitment to education, Mr. Kingsley Agyemang, a leading figure in the Abuakwa South Constituency, spent last Saturday dining with teacher trainees at the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education as part of his ongoing monthly feeding initiative.
The event, which brought smiles and relief to many students, forms part of a broader support programme aimed at easing the hardships faced by trainees amid the ongoing one-meal-a-day policy affecting Colleges of Education across the country.
Describing the experience as “humbling and inspiring,” Mr. Agyemang used the opportunity to engage directly with the students, listening to their concerns and encouraging them to stay focused on their academic goals despite the challenges.
“This initiative is more than just a donation—it is a statement of belief in the power of education and a show of solidarity with our teacher trainees,” Mr. Agyemang remarked. “We will continue to stand with them, ensuring they are supported throughout their educational journey.”
The monthly feeding programme has become a lifeline for many teacher trainees who are grappling with limited food provisions on campus. Saturday’s gathering also served as a platform to motivate the students and reaffirm Mr. Agyemang’s dedication to championing their welfare and professional development.
The gesture has drawn praise from both students and faculty members, who acknowledged the importance of such interventions in sustaining morale and academic focus.
Mr. Agyemang’s initiative underscores a growing call for broader support for teacher trainees, many of whom are preparing to become frontline educators in Ghana’s development agenda.
