Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, national chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced the resumption of his regional “Thank You Tour” in the politically crucial Ashanti Region.
In a statement on his official Facebook page, Nketiah said the tour will include visits to Akumadan, Brofoyedru, Nsuta, Tutuka, and Suame, describing the initiative as a chance to connect directly with constituents. “I’m looking forward to engaging with you on the ground and saying thank you for your trust as we continue this journey together,” he wrote.
The outreach comes shortly after Nketiah made headlines with comments on security sector recruitment, drawing public and media attention. Party insiders say the tour is part of a broader strategy to strengthen grassroots support and consolidate relationships in a region that often plays a decisive role in national elections.
The Ashanti leg of the tour is expected to feature town hall meetings, community interactions, and discussions with local leaders, providing the party leadership with direct feedback from voters. Analysts note that such visits not only serve as appreciation gestures but also help gauge political sentiment ahead of upcoming campaigns.
