A stronger focus on practical skills and child empowerment is shaping the latest phase of a nationwide safety initiative rolled out by Candance Academy.
The third season of its “Safety for All” campaign introduces new learning components, including digital safety training, emotional wellbeing sessions, and a School Safety Ambassadors Programme aimed at deepening children’s ability to identify risks and respond effectively.
At the launch in Accra, Executive Director Hannah Humphrey highlighted the growing impact of the initiative, noting that feedback from parents and teachers shows improved awareness and behaviour among participating children.
She explained that the programme has evolved from a small awareness drive into a nationally recognised intervention supported by schools, families, and partner institutions.
A key highlight of the event was the introduction of “Taekwondo for Us,” a new book designed to teach discipline, confidence, and self-defence skills, complementing the broader safety education campaign.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah praised the initiative and encouraged its adoption in schools, describing it as a valuable tool for building children’s confidence while promoting safety awareness.
With thousands of pupils already reached in previous phases, the Academy is seeking stronger partnerships with government, NGOs, and corporate bodies to expand its reach and integrate safety education into more schools across the country.
Organisers say the expanded programme reflects a long-term vision of equipping children not just with knowledge, but with the confidence and skills needed to stay safe in everyday life.
