Former Dome-Kwabenya MP and ex-Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has been summoned before the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Disciplinary Committee following comments she made in a recent interview on JoyNews.
Her remarks, which have sparked concerns within the party, are believed to have the potential to damage the NPP’s image and internal unity. While the exact statements under scrutiny remain undisclosed, party insiders suggest that her public disclosures about her ministerial removal and prolonged absence from Parliament contributed to the decision.
Adwoa Safo, who lost her re-election bid in the NPP primaries, has been outspoken about her treatment within the party, reviving debates on the challenges faced by women in political leadership.
With the 2028 elections on the horizon, the party leadership is eager to resolve internal tensions and maintain cohesion. The Disciplinary Committee will review the matter and determine the next course of action.
