Lawyers for Adamus Resources Limited and business executive Angela List have launched a strong defence against what they describe as an orchestrated media campaign linking the company and its leadership to alleged regulatory breaches in Mali.
In a sharply worded statement issued on May 25, 2026, the legal team accused sections of the media of distorting the contents of a correspondence reportedly issued by Mali’s Ministry of Mines in an attempt to tarnish the reputation of Adamus Resources and its associated persons.
According to the lawyers, the allegations contained in the correspondence relate solely to MIKO-SA, a separate entity operating in Mali, and not Adamus Resources Limited or Angela List personally.
The statement stressed that publications suggesting direct wrongdoing by Adamus or its leadership were “misleading, reckless and defamatory,” insisting that no findings of misconduct had been made against the company.
Counsel for the company argued that some reports deliberately created the impression that Adamus Resources was under investigation for tax and customs violations in Mali, despite the absence of any official determination against the company.
The lawyers further warned media houses and publishers against repeating what they described as false and damaging claims, noting that legal action could be pursued against individuals or organisations found to be spreading defamatory content.
They maintained that Adamus Resources remains committed to lawful business operations and ethical corporate governance across all jurisdictions where it operates.
The controversy follows heightened public attention surrounding mining sector investigations in Mali, where authorities have recently intensified scrutiny of foreign-linked mining operations and compliance with local regulations.
