Accra is poised to take centre stage in the global Christian worship scene with the launch of Katon Praise 2026, a large-scale gathering designed to connect believers across the world through a shared spiritual experience.
The maiden event will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on April 17, transforming the venue into a space for prayer, music and reflection under the theme “To See Jesus Glorified.”
Unlike traditional gospel concerts, organisers say Katon Praise is being positioned as a global movement rather than a one-time event. The initiative seeks to transcend geographical boundaries by creating a unified atmosphere of worship, with participants both physically present and joining virtually.
A key feature of the programme is its international reach, with live streaming on the Katon Meet platform, allowing audiences worldwide to be part of the experience in real time.
The event will feature multiple worship ministers performing in a coordinated flow, aimed at fostering a single, collective sound of praise rather than individual performances. This approach, organisers say, is intended to deepen spiritual connection and create a more immersive worship environment.
As anticipation builds, Katon Praise is already being viewed as a potential cornerstone for future global faith-based gatherings, with plans to expand beyond Ghana and bring together diverse communities of believers through music and prayer.
Organisers are encouraging the public to engage with the initiative online using the hashtags #KatonPraise and #KatonMeet, as momentum grows toward what is expected to be a landmark event in the country’s religious calendar.
