Shareholders of Ahantaman Community Bank PLC are set to receive dividends following a strong financial turnaround by the bank after the challenges posed by Ghana’s Domestic Debt Exchange Programme.
At its 38th Annual General Meeting, the Board announced a dividend of GHC0.13 per share, reflecting nearly a quarter of the bank’s profit after tax—an indication of renewed confidence in its financial stability and growth trajectory.
Board Chairman Daniel De-Graft Brace highlighted that the bank recorded a profit of over GHC26 million in 2025, supported by significant growth across key indicators including deposits, loans, and total assets.
Deposits rose sharply by over 42 percent, while total assets expanded considerably, signalling increased customer trust and improved operational performance. Lending activities also saw a notable boost, reflecting the bank’s active role in supporting businesses and individuals.
Beyond financial gains, the bank continued to invest in modernisation, upgrading its core banking system and introducing new digital channels to improve customer experience and accessibility.
The institution also reinforced its commitment to social responsibility, investing close to GHC1 million in community projects aimed at supporting local development.
The strong performance has drawn commendation from Joseph Nelson, who praised the bank’s contribution to economic growth in the Western Region and encouraged continued excellence.
Meanwhile, the AGM also marked the end of an era, as Chief Executive Officer Benjamin Afful-Eshun steps down after more than two decades of service. His leadership, which began in 2014 after rising through the ranks, was credited with positioning the bank as one of the leading community banks in Ghana.
The bank’s performance signals a broader recovery trend within the financial sector, with management expressing optimism about sustaining growth and delivering value to customers and shareholders alike.
