Pupils and teachers from the Akim Asafo Presbyterian Basic School were hosted at Ghana’s legislative hub as part of a broader initiative to connect young minds with the democratic process.
The visit, facilitated by Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South, offered the students a firsthand experience of parliamentary work. They toured the Chamber, observed live proceedings, and engaged in an interactive session with the MP.
Dr. Agyemang described the occasion as both inspiring and important. “We believe that exposing our young ones to the workings of Parliament not only broadens their civic knowledge but also inspires the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and change-makers,” he said.
The students showed great enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions about lawmaking and the responsibilities of elected officials. Their curiosity, Dr. Agyemang noted, was a testament to the potential of Ghana’s youth and the importance of early civic education.
He extended gratitude to the school’s staff and pupils for making the journey, adding, “Your presence today was a reminder of why we must continue working to build a better, fairer Ghana for the youth.”
The initiative is part of Dr. Agyemang’s ongoing efforts to promote civic engagement and educational empowerment across the Abuakwa South Constituency.
