The Bank of Ghana has reversed its decision to terminate the appointments of more than 100 employees hired in 2024, reinstating them following recent discussions.
The affected staff were initially notified of their dismissal on June 19, 2025, based on the bank’s probationary employment terms.
According to sources close to the situation, the bank held a meeting with the staff on June 26, 2025, and confirmed that they are expected to resume work on June 30, 2025.
The initial termination letters, signed by the Head of Human Resource and Capacity Development, cited unsatisfactory completion of the six-month probation period as the reason for dismissal.
The reinstatement comes amid a wider wave of staff dismissals across state institutions following the change in government earlier this year, raising concerns about employment stability in the public sector.
The Bank of Ghana’s decision to reinstate the staff offers relief to many affected employees and signals a reconsideration of earlier actions taken under the new administration.
