The 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has rallied the party’s grassroots, describing them as the driving force behind the NPP’s endurance and success.
During a spirited stop on his “Thank You” tour of the Western Region in Takoradi on Saturday, April 26, 2025, Dr. Bawumia paid glowing tribute to the party’s polling station executives and grassroots supporters, stressing that their relentless dedication was the bedrock of the NPP’s victories over the years.
“Our greatest assets are not buildings or slogans—they are our polling station executives and grassroots members. I thank them sincerely from the bottom of my heart,” he declared to loud applause.
The former Vice President underscored that no political movement could thrive without a strong grassroots foundation. He highlighted that it was the grassroots who defend the party’s image daily, in communities, markets, homes, and workplaces across Ghana.
Looking ahead to the 2028 general elections, Dr. Bawumia urged party executives at all levels to remain committed, resilient, and proactive. He stressed that continuous engagement with the base was critical to sustaining the NPP’s momentum and ensuring future electoral victories.
Dr. Bawumia’s message resonated strongly among supporters, reinforcing his strategy of grassroots empowerment as a key pillar of his campaign going forward.
