Final-year students of the Presbyterian Senior High School at Bechem in the Ahafo Region have been urged to remain guided by the core values of discipline, integrity, and excellence as they prepare to complete their secondary education and transition into the next phase of their academic and professional lives.
The advice was given by the Headmistress of the school, Miss Nancy Arthur, during the 2026 Annual Commendation Service held at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality.
The ceremony, organised by the school authorities, brought together students, staff, and invited guests to recognise and encourage final-year students as they prepare for life beyond senior high school.
Miss Arthur reminded the students to hold firmly to the Presbyterian principles instilled in them during their time at the school, stressing that these values should continue to guide their decisions and conduct in society.
She encouraged them to cultivate resilience, hard work, and perseverance in order to overcome the challenges and pressures they may encounter after school.
According to her, the institution holds the belief that former students remain part of the school community and are expected to return in the future to share their achievements and inspire current learners.
“Once a Noble, always a Noble,” she reminded the students, encouraging them to strive for success while maintaining strong moral character.
The Member of Parliament for Asutifi South, Alhaji Collins Dauda, also addressed the gathering, cautioning students against substance abuse, illicit drug use, and other behaviours that could negatively affect their future prospects.
He advised them to remain focused on education and personal development as the foundation for building better lives for themselves and their families.
The school chaplain, Reverend Gilbert Ntow Asare, further encouraged the students to be mindful of their associations and to avoid negative peer influence, urging them to channel their energy into positive and productive activities.
A total of 1,161 students, comprising 781 males and 380 females, participated in the ceremony. Awards were presented to outstanding students in recognition of their academic performance, discipline, and conduct during their three years at the institution.
The event formed part of the school’s annual tradition of celebrating achievement while reinforcing moral values and academic excellence among students.
