Blue Gold Limited has formally withdrawn its pending legal suits from the courts in Ghana, signaling a strategic shift toward resolving its dispute with the government through international arbitration.
The gold development and technology firm announced that it does not intend to initiate any further legal proceedings within Ghana at this time. Instead, it will focus exclusively on arbitration under the bilateral investment treaty between the United Kingdom and Ghana, which it describes as a more neutral and appropriate forum for addressing its claims.
Through its subsidiary, Blue Gold Holdings Limited, the company is seeking damages exceeding $1 billion. The claim is being pursued alongside former mine owner **Future Global Resources Limited**.
According to the company, the arbitration process has already commenced, with an inaugural Case Management Conference (CMC) recently convened to address procedural matters under the applicable arbitral framework. Blue Gold indicated it will provide updates on significant developments in accordance with arbitral rules and legal requirements.
While pivoting to the international forum, the company maintained that it remains open to constructive and commercially reasonable engagement with the Government of Ghana. However, it reiterated its commitment to securing full recovery of its claims.
Blue Gold describes itself as a next-generation gold development firm focused on acquiring high-potential mining assets across strategic global jurisdictions. The company says it aims to unlock value in the gold sector through disciplined acquisitions and innovative monetisation models, including asset-backed digital instruments, while prioritising environmental sustainability and operational transparency.
The company also cautioned that its announcement contains forward-looking statements subject to economic, regulatory and market risks, noting that it assumes no obligation to update such statements except as required by law.
