Clubs preparing for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase have been given until September 2, 2026, to complete the registration of their List A squads.
UEFA has instructed participating clubs to submit their squad lists and secure verification and approval from their respective national associations by 23:59 CET on Wednesday, September 2.
The deadline means clubs will need to finalise their player selections and ensure they comply with UEFA’s registration regulations ahead of the league phase.
A key requirement is adherence to the competition’s squad-size limit and the rules governing locally trained players.
Under UEFA regulations, each club can register a maximum of 25 players on List A during the season, with at least two places required to be occupied by goalkeepers.
The regulations are expected to influence clubs’ final transfer and squad decisions as they balance new signings with existing players and locally trained quotas.
Clubs that fail to meet the registration requirements risk having their squad submissions rejected or being required to make adjustments before approval.
The September 2 deadline will therefore be a crucial date for Champions League participants as they finalise their squads for the 2026/27 European campaign
