One of Ghana’s finest international educational institution, Vilac International School, has marked its 16th graduation academic excellence award ceremony with a call on parent to help teachers in the training of their children.

The ceremony which was was attended by hundreds of parents as well as top dignitaries across Ghana.

In her delivery at the ceremony, Principal of the Vilac International School, Mis Eunice Adjei-Wiredu, thanked the almighty God for the successes chalked by the institution over the past year.

Miss Adjei-Wiredu was happy that the school has for the past year improved upon its academic excellence and happily attributed it to hard work and dedication from both management, staff, parents, and students.

“We have 48 students moving into Grade 1, 15 students into senior high, 42 students moving into Advanced Level Education, and 9 students moving into the universities and colleges. I would like for us to give them a resounding applause to achieving this mile stone in their academic journey, ” she stated.

At the external front, miss Adjei-Wiredu disclosed that the academic year started with the release of the results of their 2024 IGCSE and AS’ Level results as the institution surpassed last year’s record.

“For the AS’ Level, 75% of students scored between A and B. In IGCSE, 85% of candidates secured between Grades A*- C in 6 subjects or more. All BECE candidates obtained distinction in the 2024 exam. The results of our Primary Checkpoint were also released on the 16th of June, 2025. Again, Vilac surpassed the International Average in First Language English by 6 points, Mathematics by 3 points and in Science by 6 points,’ she stated.

According to the Principal, over the years, the school has consistently provided holistic education to its students to enable them fit into the real world, adding that the institution has worked with many students to harness their extra ordinary talents to make a positive influence in their learning communities and the world at large.

“During the 2024 National UCMAS Competition that came off on the 9th and 11th of August, 2024,Vilac International School students come out tops with the following awards,
Aseda Yaa Afriyie Amankwah emerged as the national overall winner in the Elementary B Category Quiz (200 Questions in 8 Minutes), Caleb Gyampo was adjudged the National Overall Winner for Listening Calculations Category F, Caleb Gyampo again came up tops in the Inter B Category, Leanne Nana Oye Gyampoh was the national overall winner in the Elementary B Category, Harshakrishna Nana Vattikuti won the Basic Small Friends Category, Sayed Adam emerged as the second runner up for the Complete Basic Category (200 Questions in 8 Minutes),” the Principal disclosed.

For his part, Chairman for the occasion, Mr. William Kotei Koteh Esq charged the students to demonstrate hard work on their path of prosperity.

He underscored the need for parents to support teachers in the upbringing of their wards towards the successes of their future tasks.

“This past year has been remarkable for the management, students, and teachers of Vilac International school, particularly marking unprecedented achievements which our dear Principal has outlined in detail in her management speech. Together, we have made meaningful strides toward our goals—not because of a single person, but because each of us contributed our time, our effort, and our resources with unwavering dedication, ” he stated.

The Chairman at the occasion charged the students embrace discipline, saying that discipline is the unspoken force behind every great achievement.

Graduates, the world awaiting you is full of opportunities, but also full of challenges. You will meet situations that will test your resolve and tempt you toward social vices. I urge you to resist such temptations. Stay away from harmful influences, avoid bad company, and steer clear of behaviours that might destroy your future. Social vices may seem appealing in the moment, but they only lead to regret and wasted potential.

Instead, focus on your goals. Focus on what you want to achieve, on who you want to become, and on how you will make your family, your school, and your country proud. Surround yourselves with positive influences, mentors, and friends who will lift you higher. Keep your dreams alive by working on them every single day.

As you confront the world, remember that challenges are part of life. Do not fear them confronting them. Face them with courage, with the confidence that the education you have received here has prepared you well. Use your knowledge wisely, continue learning, and always be willing to adapt, ” he hinted.
