Christian women have been encouraged to become agents of change in their homes, churches and communities by relying on the power of the Holy Spirit through prayer, fasting and righteous living.
The call was made by Mrs Christiana Agbove, wife of the Bankoe District Pastor of The Church of Pentecost, during the climax of the National Women’s Week celebration held at the Fiave Central Assembly in the Ho Municipality.
Speaking on the theme, “Women Unleashed to Transform Society Through the Power of the Holy Spirit,” Mrs Agbove said true societal transformation begins with spiritual renewal at home and urged women to remain committed to prayer and obedience to God.
Drawing lessons from Acts of the Apostles 13:1–3, she explained how the early church received divine direction through prayer and fasting, stressing that believers must continually seek God for strength and guidance.
She said women who are empowered by the Holy Spirit live boldly, uphold holiness and positively influence those around them.
Mrs Agbove also noted that motherhood extends beyond childbirth, explaining that many women serve as mentors and caregivers and deserve recognition for their contributions to society.
She urged mothers to pray consistently for their children, speak positively into their lives and help guide them toward Christian values.
Referencing the biblical story of **Book of Esther, she said faith, prayer and godly influence can transform any environment and encouraged women to remain steadfast in their spiritual responsibilities.
Quoting **Book of Zechariah 4:6, she emphasised that lasting transformation comes “not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of God.”
