The Oti Regional Secretariat of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association Ghana is shifting focus from celebration to recognition this year, as it prepares to reward 25 outstanding public servants for their exemplary performance during the 2026 May Day event.
The awards, which will be presented at a regional gathering in Kadjebi on May 1, are part of efforts to strengthen professionalism and encourage a culture of excellence within the civil and local government workforce.
According to Regional Secretary Joseph Atango, the initiative is designed to highlight dedication and efficiency across the nine districts in the region, while motivating other staff to raise their standards in public service delivery.
More than 300 workers are expected to attend the event at the Kadjebi Parade Grounds, which will also feature a march past, cultural performances and solidarity messages from labour groups and stakeholders.
The John Kwadwo Gyapong is billed to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour.
Mr Atango emphasised that recognising hardworking employees was critical to improving morale and productivity, adding that CLOGSAG remains committed to advocating better working conditions and welfare for its members.
He further urged workers to uphold integrity and remain committed to their roles as key contributors to national development.
