Nigerian music superstar Davido has opened up about the origins of his relationship with wife Chioma Adeleke, revealing that their love story began during their university days at Babcock University.
Recalling their first encounter, Davido said he spotted Chioma while driving a Prado on campus and immediately felt a connection. “I told Lati I liked that girl and asked him to call her, but she snubbed me,” he recounted. Their paths later crossed in Lagos, where the spark between them grew into a long-term relationship.
The couple, who met around 2013, balanced their student lives—Davido studying music and Chioma pursuing economics—while maintaining a relationship that would become one of Nigeria’s most celebrated celebrity unions.
Their love culminated in a public traditional wedding ceremony in Lagos in June 2024, following an earlier court wedding. Over the years, they have celebrated both joy and sorrow, welcoming their first son, Ifeanyi, in 2019, mourning his loss in 2022, and later welcoming twins in 2023.
