A Facebook post circulating on social media has claimed that former Director of Communications for the Bawumia for President 2024 campaign, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has been arrested at the Kotoka International Airport over alleged corruption-related offences.
The claim was made in a post published on Saturday by Facebook user David Sitsope Tamakloe, revealing that his arrest was in connection with multiple corruption cases linked to his alleged tenure as Executive Secretary of (IMCC) Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee (IMCC) on Decentralisation.
The post further claimed that the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) was investigating allegations that he had stolen millions, adding that more details would be released later.
As of the time of filing this report, no official statement had been issued by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), the Ghana Police Service or any other state institution confirming the alleged arrest or investigations.
Similarly, Mr Aboagye or his representatives had not publicly responded to the claims.
The Facebook post has generated reactions online, with users expressing mixed views over the unverified allegations.
Channel One News has not independently verified the claims contained in the social media post and therefore cannot confirm the authenticity of the allegations.
The story is developing and will be updated if official information becomes available.
