Mr William Nyatepe Dzatabu has pledged to strengthen grassroots communication and build the capacity of party communicators as he seeks the position of Deputy Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ketu South Constituency.

Mr Dzatabu, who has filed his nomination for the position, said his experience at branch, zonal and constituency levels had equipped him with an understanding of the communication needs of the party.

He was accompanied by supporters when he submitted his nomination and expressed confidence in securing the opportunity to serve the constituency.

Mr Dzatabu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that his decision to contest was motivated by his desire to contribute to the development of the party’s communication machinery.

He has served as a Branch Communications Officer for three terms and currently serves as the Aflao Wego Zonal Communications Officer.

He is also a member of the Ketu South Constituency Research and Communications Team and participated in the NDC’s 2024 campaign team, contributing to research and communication activities.

Drawing on that experience, Mr Dzatabu said he would prioritise regular training programmes for communicators, strengthen communication channels in rural communities and improve the dissemination of party information across the constituency.

He also proposed greater collaboration among communicators and stakeholders to ensure that information reaches party members effectively at all levels.

Mr Dzatabu said inclusivity would be another priority, particularly through encouraging more women and young people to participate in communication activities.

He further pledged to ensure fair representation and participation of communicators across all five zones of the constituency.

“I am deeply grateful for the massive backing I received and continue to receive from all well-meaning party members and the general public since my announcement to become the Deputy Communications Officer,” he said.

Mr Dzatabu expressed confidence in successfully completing the vetting process and securing the mandate to serve.

He said effective communication was essential to party organisation and engagement and pledged to work with constituency executives and other stakeholders to strengthen the party’s communication structures.
