Children in Ziorme are set to study in an improved learning environment after a stalled community school project was completed through the intervention of Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The Ketu South MP and Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture commissioned a newly completed three-unit classroom block aimed at easing infrastructure challenges and improving access to quality education in the community.
The facility comes with additional supporting amenities designed to enhance effective teaching and learning for pupils in the area.
Speaking after the commissioning ceremony, Madam Gomashie said the project was completed in response to appeals from residents who had started the classroom block on their own but could not finish it because of financial constraints.
According to her, every child deserves a safe and conducive learning environment regardless of where they live.
She praised the people of Ziorme for demonstrating commitment to education by initiating the project themselves, describing the community effort as a strong example of local participation in development.
Madam Gomashie further pledged to support the school with computers and additional teaching and learning materials to improve academic performance and digital access for pupils.
Seth Akli commended the MP for her continued investment in education within the municipality.
He described education as the foundation of community development and noted that the new classroom block would significantly improve conditions for both pupils and teachers.
Mr Akli also assured residents that the Municipal Education Directorate would work towards posting teachers to the school to support effective teaching and learning.
However, he urged community leaders to formally apply for the school’s absorption into the public education system to ensure sustained government support.
Residents expressed gratitude to Madam Gomashie, describing the completion of the classroom block as a major relief and a timely intervention for the growing community.
The commissioning ceremony ended with emotional scenes as community members presented gifts to the MP in appreciation of her support for education development in Ziorme.
