Christians attending the 2026 Global Easter Retreat of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) have been urged to prioritise sanctification and deepen their relationship with God as a central part of their faith journey.
Delivering a sermon at the youth division of the retreat, Pastor Promise Bright Karikari, Middle-Belt Administrator of the church, stressed that moral purity and upright living remain essential requirements for spiritual growth and acceptance before God.
Speaking on the theme, “Sanctification: The compulsory requirement for heavenly citizenship,” he encouraged believers—particularly the youth—to reflect during the Easter period and commit to lives of holiness.
According to him, the significance of Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, would lose its meaning if Christians continued to live in sin.
He cautioned that both deliberate and unintentional sin could distance believers from God and diminish the values of Christianity, adding that indulgence in worldly pleasures and immoral conduct could attract divine displeasure rather than blessings.
Referencing biblical passages including Psalm 42:1 and Matthew 5:6, Pastor Karikari urged Christians to remain steadfast in righteousness, noting that a life of godliness ultimately brings lasting fulfilment.
The five-day retreat, themed “The Glory of Christ Resurrection,” has drawn hundreds of participants—youth, children, and adults—from various districts and divisions of the church.
Participants are also receiving teachings from Pastor Dr William F. Kumuyi, Founder and General Superintendent of DCLM, who is delivering sermons via satellite from the church’s headquarters in Nigeria.
In his message, Pastor Kumuyi underscored the importance of total consecration and consistent Christian living, stating that true sanctification must be reflected both inwardly and outwardly.
He emphasised that God expects believers to uphold His teachings and live lives that demonstrate integrity, purity, and Christ-like character.
