Eight underserved communities in the Ho West Constituency have begun benefiting from rural electrification works under the Government’s 2026 Big Push Projects, with the initiative expected to improve economic and social activities in the beneficiary areas.
The projects, which commenced on September 1, 2026, are intended to extend access to electricity to communities that have remained without reliable power and create conditions for improved livelihoods and community development.
Member of Parliament for Ho West, Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, said the projects followed sustained engagement and advocacy to secure the electrification works for the beneficiary communities.
The communities are Tsiamikorfe/Bedzrakorfe at Tsito; Sekekorfe/Abalakpe at Anyirawase; Mawudekako/Sonume, Agoryikpoe, Mawoekpor, Dzanyodake/Gatogo/Amave/Tomey and Andokorfe/Agbadzi in Abutia; and Adorfe in Kpoeta.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Bedzrah said the extension of electricity would improve living conditions while creating an enabling environment for economic activities.
He said reliable electricity was an important driver of development, with access to power supporting education, businesses, healthcare and other essential services.
According to him, the electrification projects would therefore provide the beneficiary communities with greater opportunities to improve their socio-economic activities and accelerate local development.
Mr Bedzrah said he remained committed to working with the relevant authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that the projects progressed as planned and delivered the intended benefits to residents.
He said the initiative formed part of the broader objective of connecting communities across the Ho West Constituency to the national electricity grid and improving access to essential infrastructure.
The MP expressed the expectation that the projects would contribute to creating a better environment for residents to pursue education, operate businesses and access essential services.
