In a gesture highlighting corporate compassion, Fidelity Bank Ghana has donated GH¢500,000 to the government’s fund dedicated to the families of the eight citizens who tragically died in the August 6 helicopter crash.
The contribution, presented during a courtesy visit to Jubilee House on August 22, 2025, reflects the bank’s commitment to national solidarity and social responsibility in moments of collective grief.
A delegation led by Kwabena Boateng, Deputy Managing Director for Wholesale Banking, handed over the cheque to Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, with other key officials including John-Paul Taabavi and Adeline Aryee in attendance.
Speaking at the presentation, Mr. Boateng said the bank’s support aimed to provide tangible assistance to the families, particularly the children, and to reinforce unity in difficult times.
“These were men of honour and service. It is important that we, as a Ghanaian bank, play a meaningful role in helping the families left behind. We hope this contribution will help secure their children’s future and bring some comfort,” he said.
Mr. Debrah expressed gratitude on behalf of the government, assuring that the funds would be directed towards the welfare and education of the children of the deceased. He also praised Fidelity Bank for its swift action and leadership in rallying national support following the tragedy.
The donation underscores the growing role of the private sector in supporting humanitarian causes and strengthening community resilience during national crises.
