Madam Alberta Mansah Klokpa, an alumna of Kadjebi R.C Junior High School in the Oti Region, has donated a consignment of sanitary pads to female students at the school in honor of 2025 World Menstrual Hygiene Day.
The donation, she said, was her way of supporting girls’ education and well-being by helping them manage menstruation with dignity. Madam Klokpa emphasized that her contribution was a call for more community support in addressing challenges the state cannot tackle alone.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, she encouraged the students to prioritize their education, avoid negative peer influences, and make responsible life choices.
“This is not just about sanitary pads. It’s about ensuring no girl misses school or loses confidence because of a natural process,” she said.
Marked annually on May 28, World Menstrual Hygiene Day seeks to break taboos surrounding menstruation, promote proper menstrual hygiene, and advocate for access to menstrual products for all.
Madam Klokpa’s donation was warmly received by school staff and students, who praised her for setting an example of community-mindedness and inspiring the next generation of girls to dream big and give back.
