The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering enterprise growth in rural districts, with a focus on youth and small business empowerment, during a working visit to Atiwa East in the Eastern Region.
GEA Chief Executive Officer, Madam Margaret Ansel Magoo, led a high-powered delegation to engage the District Chief Executive, Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim, on strategies to enhance local collaboration for the Mastercard Foundation BizBox project.
The initiative, currently being rolled out nationwide, aims to provide skills training, business support, and market access for young entrepreneurs and small enterprises.
“Our goal is to work hand-in-hand with district authorities to ensure that the BizBox project delivers lasting impact — creating jobs, building capacity, and opening up economic opportunities,” Madam Magoo said.
She was joined by senior GEA officials, including Madam Rejoice Tettey, Head of Corporate Affairs; Mrs. Mary Nkrumah Inusah, Partnership Coordinator; Mr. Abdul-Latif Ibn Mohammed, Deputy National Project Coordinator for BizBox; and Madam Fatima Issaka, Agriculture and Agribusiness to Entrepreneurship Component Coordinator.
The visit forms part of GEA’s broader agenda to strengthen local partnerships, enabling district assemblies to play an active role in the effective implementation of enterprise development initiatives.
