The Government of Ghana has safely evacuated its nationals from Israel, ensuring their protection amid ongoing regional instability, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa announced.
The operation, coordinated through Ghana’s embassy in Tel Aviv with support from regional partners, also included the withdrawal of some diplomatic staff, while a small contingent remains to provide essential consular services. Mr Ablakwa confirmed via social media that all Ghanaians who requested assistance had been successfully brought home.
“The Government remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of Ghanaians abroad,” he said, highlighting extensive cross-border coordination with Israeli and Egyptian authorities that made the evacuation possible.
The evacuees arrived safely in Accra, where officials received them, marking the latest example of Ghana’s proactive response in ensuring citizen safety during international crises.
Mr Ablakwa noted that the Government would continue to monitor developments closely and remain ready to assist any Ghanaian still requiring support, emphasizing the priority placed on citizens’ safety in unstable regions.
