In the wake of the devastating tidal waves that have displaced hundreds in Ketu South, government officials, business leaders, and MPs have rallied together to provide critical relief to affected communities.
Leading the support efforts, Roads and Highways Minister Kwame Governs Agbodza has donated 250 bags of 25kg rice, 50 boxes of cooking oil, and 1,000 bags of sachet water to assist victims in the hardest-hit areas.
Business mogul Ibrahim Mahama has also extended a helping hand with a cash donation of GHS100,000, reinforcing his commitment to supporting disaster relief efforts.
Additionally, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has supplied essential items to displaced families, ensuring their basic needs are met during this difficult period.
During a visit to Agavedzi on March 6, President John Dramani Mahama assured victims that their MP and Minister for Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, will oversee the fair distribution of relief supplies upon her return from a national assignment over the weekend.
The Volta Caucus of MPs has further demonstrated solidarity by contributing an additional GHS100,000 to aid recovery efforts, while a private lawyer has donated GHS10,000 to the cause.
These coordinated efforts highlight the commitment of both government and private individuals to restoring the livelihoods of those affected by the natural disaster.
