The Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD) has suspended the March 2025 salaries of some government employees due to inconsistencies in their National Identification Authority (NIA) numbers linked to the payroll system.
In an official letter, CAGD cited irregularities detected during a routine review of the Government of Ghana’s (GoG) Payroll System, which led to the temporary halt of salary payments for affected employees. The department has requested that institutions submit a staff list (Nominal Roll) of those impacted to aid in a thorough investigation and the subsequent release of their salaries.
To resolve the issue, Heads of Human Resource (HR) departments are directed to retrieve terminated employees’ data from their corporate emails and submit corrected information, along with explanatory remarks, by April 4, 2025. The data should be sent electronically to [email protected] and [email protected].
This development comes after several government employees reported that although they had been validated to receive their March salaries, the payments did not reflect. Affected individuals are advised to visit their respective IPPD coordinators in their districts for further assistance.
