The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has taken steps to review the circumstances surrounding the revocation of mining leases granted to Adamus Resources Limited in the Ellembelle District, following alleged breaches linked to operations at Nkroful, Akango, and Salman.
Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has inaugurated an Independent Petition Review Committee to examine a petition filed by the company and establish the full facts behind the decision.
The committee, chaired by Jerry Samuel Yaw Kuma, has been mandated to conduct a detailed fact-finding process and submit its report and recommendations within three weeks.
The government had earlier revoked the mining leases of Adamus Resources Limited following reported infractions, including allegations that portions of its concession were ceded to foreign nationals without ministerial approval and concerns linked to illegal mining activities.
In addition to the review committee, the Minister has also established an Interim Management Committee to oversee operations at the affected sites pending the outcome of investigations.
The interim body is chaired by Maurer Otsyina, a seasoned processing manager tasked with ensuring continuity and stability in operations.
According to the Ministry, the dual interventions are intended to safeguard jobs, maintain operational stability, and protect national interests while due process is followed.
Mr Armah-Kofi Buah expressed confidence that both committees will carry out their assignments with integrity and diligence to ensure a fair and transparent resolution of the matter.
The review is expected to provide clarity on the circumstances that led to the lease revocation and guide future decisions on the management of the affected mining concessions.
