The 2026 University of Ghana Corporate Football League reaches a decisive climax this week as Group B heads into its final round of matches, with qualification spots, pride, and unbeaten records all hanging in the balance.
After nine intense game weeks, the standings have set up a dramatic finish, with the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and Wilmar Africa emerging as the central contenders for the two available qualification places.
National Petroleum Authority has delivered one of the standout performances of the tournament so far, boasting an extraordinary defensive record of eight consecutive clean sheets. With 20 points, a draw in their final match will be enough to secure progression—but maintaining their perfect defensive run adds another layer of pressure.
Their opponents, Telecel Corporate FC, may no longer be in the qualification race, but they have the opportunity to end NPA’s remarkable run and spoil a near-perfect campaign.
In the other crucial fixture, Wilmar Africa FC face the Lebanese Sports Community FC in a match that could decide the second qualification slot.
Wilmar Africa have been one of the most attacking sides in the group, scoring 15 goals and staying just one point behind the leaders. Victory would put them firmly in control of their qualification hopes, while anything less could end their campaign prematurely.
Their opponents, though out of contention, are expected to play with freedom and unpredictability, making them a dangerous spoiler with nothing to lose.
Elsewhere in Group B, the remaining fixtures are driven by pride and positioning rather than qualification pressure.
BOST Energies FC face National Communications Authority FC in a contest where both sides are aiming to finish their season on a strong note.
Union Ghana FC take on Ghana Airports Company Limited FC, with Union still chasing a slim mathematical hope while Airports look to end on a positive note.
In another evenly balanced encounter, Zenith Bank FC face Forestry Commission FC, with both sides eager to salvage pride from a competitive campaign.
As Group B enters its final round, the narrative is clear: two teams chasing qualification, others fighting for pride, and every minute carrying the potential to reshape the season.
The league is supported by Perla Mineral Water, TCL, Glico General Insurance, Wilmar Africa, and the Ghana Football Association, and is produced by the University of Ghana Sports and Wellness Directorate in partnership with RITE Sports Services, with GTV Sports Plus and Radio Universe serving as official media partners.
