The Women’s Wing of the Islamic Mission Secretariat (IMS) is set to use its upcoming 27th Annual National Women’s Conference as a platform to empower Muslim women with practical skills, health support, and renewed commitment to national development.
The three-day event, scheduled for August 28 to 31, 2025, at Otaakrom in the Atwima Mponua District of the Ashanti Region, will gather Muslim women leaders and stakeholders under the theme: “The Role of a Muslim Woman in Nation Building Through Commitment.”
According to a statement signed by Hajia Mamiram Suleiman Nketia, National Secretary of the IMS Women’s Wing, the conference goes beyond dialogue to offer employable skills training for vulnerable groups, free health screening exercises, and sporting activities to promote wellness and unity.
In a major highlight, the gathering will be graced by First Lady Lordina Mahama and former Second Lady Hajia Samira Bawumia, signalling bipartisan support for initiatives that uplift women and communities.
Organisers say the activities are designed to reflect the conference’s broader vision: equipping Muslim women with the tools to contribute meaningfully to national progress, while strengthening family values, economic resilience, and community solidarity.
With the participation of thousands of women expected, this year’s conference is anticipated to be one of the most impactful yet, setting the tone for how faith-based women’s groups can blend spirituality with social action in addressing Ghana’s development challenges.
