The Juaboso District Assembly has intensified efforts to promote responsible land use and sustainable development through a recent engagement with local landowners and stakeholders. The initiative aims to ensure that construction activities across the district align with national planning policies and safety standards.
The meeting brought together a broad spectrum of participants including individual landowners, traditional stools and families, developers, corporations, and institutions. At the session, Mr. Daniel Darko Gyapong, Technical Officer of the Physical Planning Department, highlighted the significance of adhering to the national planning framework and conducting thorough site assessments to identify potential hazards such as flooding, landslides, and electrical risks.
Mr. Gyapong stressed the importance of obtaining building permits prior to any construction work to guarantee compliance with local development plans and safeguard community wellbeing. “Proactive collaboration at every stage of the planning process is key to realizing well-designed, safe, and sustainable buildings,” he noted.
Echoing this sentiment, Mr. Alexander Adu Quist, District Chief Executive, encouraged landowners to seek guidance from qualified professionals like architects and engineers to enhance planning quality. He described the workshop as a vital platform to foster development that not only meets safety and functionality standards but also contributes positively to the district’s broader community planning goals.
This proactive approach by the Juaboso District Assembly underscores its commitment to building resilient, well-structured communities while protecting residents from environmental and infrastructural risks.
