Kadema in the Builsa North Municipality is set to benefit from a modern Police Station, thanks to a community-driven initiative aimed at curbing rising crime in the area. At a sod-cutting ceremony for the project, Chief Superintendent of Police Daniel Anane Amoah, the Navrongo Divisional Commander, commended the effort while urging residents to engage the Police constructively rather than resorting to vandalism or attacks against officers.
Chief Supt. Amoah emphasized that public frustration with law enforcement should never escalate into destructive actions, noting that such behavior undermines rule of law and endangers lives. “Crime prevention and control cannot be left to the Police alone. It is a shared responsibility,” he stated, urging the community to provide timely information and support investigations to ensure safety and security.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Kadem-Nab Amuribadek Amaateng Adangabe, was motivated by an increase in local crime and the need for closer policing. Recognizing the region’s economic activities, particularly mining operations, the Chief explained that proceeds from local miners would fund the construction. “I insisted that the monies charged will strictly be used for the project,” he said.
In a show of commitment, Nab Adangabe pledged full cooperation with officers who will be posted to the new station. He also requested the temporary deployment of three police personnel to the area to maintain law and order until the facility is completed. The Chief promised that the community would provide accommodation for the officers during this period.
Chief Supt. Amoah used the occasion to reinforce the importance of constructive engagement between the public and Police. He cautioned that attacks on police personnel not only jeopardize safety but also weaken institutions meant to protect citizens.
The new station marks a significant collaboration between the Kadema community and law enforcement, demonstrating how proactive community participation can bolster security infrastructure while fostering trust between residents and the Police Service.
