The Kpassa Traditional Council has firmly refuted claims by one Nana Ayeng Anebo II, who has recently declared himself as the Kpassa-Wura. In a statement released to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Council described the assertion as misleading and without legitimacy.
Paramount Chief Ubor Tassan Konja VI reiterated his position as the rightful overlord of Kpassa, warning residents and the wider Oti enclave to be wary of misinformation surrounding the chieftaincy dispute.
The statement also referenced the legacy of Ubor Tassan Konja IV, renowned for his peacebuilding efforts, as a reflection of the Kpassa leadership’s values and commitment to harmony.
To address lingering confusion and reinforce the Council’s position, chiefs and elders will meet with the Oti Regional Minister on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. The meeting is expected to clarify the issue and reinforce the Council’s stance.
The Traditional Council urged the public to disregard Nana Anebo’s claim, reaffirming that there is only one recognised Kpassa-Wura, and that the matter would be resolved through peaceful dialogue with regional stakeholders.
