The Member of Parliament for Krachi East Constituency, Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, is set to provide educational support to high-performing candidates from the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) as part of efforts to promote academic excellence in the constituency.
The initiative, dubbed the Krachi East 2026 BECE Scholar Awards, will also extend recognition and support to candidates with Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), ensuring that students who may have faced additional challenges are included in the celebration.
The awards ceremony, scheduled for September 10, 2026, will honour candidates who obtained aggregates between six and nine in the 2026 BECE.
According to a statement signed by Mr Djabab and copied to the Ghana News Agency, the programme is designed to celebrate the constituency’s top-performing students while providing practical support to help beneficiaries continue their education.
The selected students are expected to receive school trunks, mattresses, cash and other educational materials to assist them as they progress to the next stage of their academic journey.
The initiative is being held under the theme: “Celebrating Our Brightest Stars and All Candidates with PWDs,” reflecting the MP’s emphasis on both academic achievement and inclusive educational support.
The programme is expected to bring together award recipients, parents, education stakeholders and members of the community to recognise the students’ achievements and encourage them to pursue higher educational goals.
Beyond rewarding current performance, the initiative is also intended to motivate other students in Krachi East to take their studies seriously and aspire to achieve strong academic results.
The ceremony will take place in front of the MP’s office, beside Arena’s Spot, at 11:00 a.m. on September 10, 2026.
Mr Djabab’s initiative is expected to provide both recognition and material assistance to young learners as they transition from basic education to the next phase of their schooling.
