Parin FC’s title charge in the Accra North District Football Association (ANDFA) Division Three League gathered fresh momentum after a dramatic 2–1 comeback victory over Prestige Heights at the Alajo Astro Turf, inspired by a decisive late showing from marksman Micheal Ayertey.
The encounter lived up to expectations, with both sides matching aggression with skill and intent. Prestige Heights looked sharper in the opening exchanges and were rewarded when a slick passing move carved open the Parin FC defence, allowing Nuruudeen Hussein to calmly slot home the opener.
Parin FC had a golden opportunity to restore parity before the break when Ayertey was fouled in the box, but captain Edward Osei’s penalty crashed against the crossbar, sending Prestige Heights into the interval with their lead intact.
A tactical reshuffle by Parin FC coach Eric Nyarko after the restart shifted the balance of the contest. The substitutions injected urgency and control into Parin FC’s play, and Ayertey soon capitalised on a defensive lapse to draw his side level.
As the match headed towards a draw, Ayertey struck again in the closing moments, finishing clinically just before the 90th minute to complete the turnaround and hand Parin FC all three points.
The pulsating contest ended on a worrying note when industrious midfielder Robert Ankrah collapsed late in the game, but he was swiftly attended to and later revived.
With the victory, Parin FC strengthened their push for the league title and remain well placed at the summit, having amassed 15 points from seven matches.
