The management of Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has confirmed receiving a court document initiated by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) concerning his consent for the shipment of a seized yellow Lamborghini to the United States.
In a statement issued by Sammy Flex, Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, the camp acknowledged the legal notice and indicated that the matter has been handed over to their lawyers for appropriate action.
According to the statement, the court document relates specifically to a request for the artiste’s consent in connection with the transfer of the luxury vehicle abroad. Management emphasised that the issue is being addressed strictly through legal channels.
The latest development follows EOCO’s earlier seizure of a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale’s residence at Trassaco Valley Phase 1 in Accra on August 5, 2025. The operation, EOCO disclosed at the time, was conducted by its Surveillance and Asset Recovery Unit after a lawful search.
In a previous press release signed by Acting Executive Director Raymond Archer, EOCO stated that the action stemmed from a 2023 request by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.
The agency further indicated that U.S. authorities had linked the vehicle to proceeds from a criminal enterprise involving Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the United States for financial crimes.
With the matter now before legal representatives, attention is expected to shift to court proceedings that will determine the next steps regarding the vehicle’s status and possible transfer.
