Letshego Ghana Savings and Loans PLC has announced a strong financial performance for the half-year ended June 30, 2026, during its “Facts Behind the Figures” engagement with the Ghana Stock Exchange.
The results were driven by growth in lending, improved margins, disciplined cost management, and resilient asset quality.
Strong Profit Growth
Profit before tax increased significantly to GHS67 million, up from GHS24 million in the corresponding period of 2025.
Return on equity also improved to 33%, compared with 23% in the previous year.
Lending income rose by 35% to GHS308 million, supported by higher disbursement volumes, while lower funding costs contributed to stronger margins.
Speaking at the session, the Chief Finance Officer of Letshego Ghana, Daisy O. Adjei-Boadi, said the results reflected the strength of the company’s strategy and business model.
“Our H1 2026 results reflect the strength of our strategy, the resilience of our business model, and our commitment to sustainable growth. We continue to deliver strong earnings while strengthening our balance sheet, diversifying our portfolio, and deepening financial inclusion across Ghana.”
Mobile Lending Drives Growth
Mobile lending remained the company’s primary growth engine, recording GHS5.0 billion in disbursements during the first half of the year.
The gross loan book closed at GHS1.2 billion, underscoring continued expansion in the company’s lending operations.
Strong Balance Sheet and Capital Position
Letshego Ghana maintained a well-capitalised balance sheet capable of supporting future growth.
Key balance sheet indicators include:
- Total assets: GHS1.9 billion
- Customer deposits: GHS834 million
- Capital adequacy ratio: 20.2%
The company said the growth in customer deposits reflected sustained customer confidence and continued progress in mobilising stable retail funding.
The capital adequacy ratio remains comfortably above regulatory requirements, providing capacity for continued business expansion.
Capital Markets Presence
Letshego Ghana said it continues to benefit from its long-standing presence in Ghana’s capital markets.
For more than a decade, the company has maintained an active presence in the bond market, raising capital to support lending, financial inclusion, and business growth.
With a well-managed maturity profile and available capacity under its bond programme, the company said it remains well positioned to fund future growth while maintaining funding flexibility.
Financial Inclusion and ESG Commitments
Beyond financial performance, Letshego Ghana continued to advance its financial inclusion agenda by expanding access to credit for:
- Individuals
- Women entrepreneurs
- Micro and small enterprises
The company also piloted group-lending initiatives focused on women and continued to support sustainable development through financing for clean energy and green mobility projects.
According to the company, these initiatives reflect its commitment to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) priorities and its broader mission of improving lives through inclusive finance, economic empowerment, and sustainable development.
